Susan Crown

Founder & Chairman, SCE

Susan Crown is Chairman and Founder of Owl Creek Partners, a Chicago-based investment firm, and the Founder of SCE, a social investment organization that connects innovation with market forces to drive social change. Susan is also a Vice President of Henry Crown & Company. Susan chairs the Executive Committee of Illinois Tool Works.  From 1993-2003, she served as a director of Baxter International. Her non-profit efforts include serving on the boards of The Chicago Public Education Fund and Rush University Medical Center, where she is a Vice Chair and chaired the Facilities Committee. Susan was a fellow of the Yale Corporation for 12 years and a co-chair of the Yale Tomorrow Campaign. She chaired Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation for Visual History and Education and is currently serving as the Inaugural Chair of their Next Generation Council. She holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.A. from New York University. Susan and her husband William Kunkler have two adult children and live in Chicago. She joined CARE’s Board in 2006.
