Mare Fort

Vice President of People and Culture

Mare Fort serves as CARE USA’s Vice President of People and Culture. She previously served as CI Strategic Liaison and Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. She also represents CARE USA on the CARE Peru Board. Mare joined CARE in 1999, as a project manager in, Peru. She has led regional and global initiatives in CARE such as the knowledge sharing and talent management. She spent four years in the Regional office in Asia, as Deputy Regional Director for Program Quality. During that time, she led the first Asia Impact Report. Mare grew up in Peru and worked for local NGOs, performing social research and consultancies, as well as teaching in college. She has a bachelor’s degree of Social Science and a master’s degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands.
