| Project Name: | Development and Strengthening of Civil Society and Education for Human Rights |

The project aims to develop and strengthen the capacity of the different types of civil society organisations existing in Burundi; to promote and help organise human rights education and integration of the concepts of gender and diversity.
Targeted beneficiaries include: selected national and local partner organisations and, through them, the population in general including specifically secondary school, those participating in informal education, women, local associations, returning refugees, IDPs and Bashingantahe (see below).
Activities will include: training of local associations in conflict resolution, training of NGO and association leaders in planning, management and conflict resolution, training and support to Bashingantahe, the traditional conflict resolution structure located throughout Burundi, use of interactive drama and cultural events, human rights clubs in schools, as well as exchange visits between associations in different provinces. |
