In line with the The Burundian National Council for the Fight Against HIV/AIDS’ (CNLS) National Policy in Support of OVC, CRS and CARE propose to work with eight local NGOs in order to reduce the impacts of HIV/AIDS, violence and poverty on the OVCs of eight provinces of Burundi and ensure realization of their universal child rights. The project goal is to reduce the impacts of HIV/AIDS, violence and poverty on the OVCs of Burundi, and ensure realization of their universal child rights. The purpose is to scale-up and improve the effectiveness and sustainability of the national response to OVC
. The direct services offered to OVCs by Programme NZOKIRA partners shall include:
 Placement into families
 Access to education and social support such as psychosocial and legal assistance
 Access to health services, including for HIV/AIDS
 Vocational training and other activities to foster economic autonomy
 Support to households to improve economic well-being and food security. |
