| This pilot initiateive of CARE Bangladesh and Intercorporation (IC) aims to improve local governnance to become a responsive people-centered democratic institution. The main purpose of the program is to facilitate local governance structures to become more responsible and responsive to the poor and marginalized communities including women. The local governance program intends to build capacities of Union Parishad (UPs) to better plan, design and implement pro-poor projects, empower communities to raise their collective voice, facilitate partnerships between different local institutions and organizations and promote paricipation, coodination, downward accountability and transparency in loval government structure. |
