Project Name:Tourism from the Glaciers to the Mangrove Forest, Phase II
Project Description:
This project is focused on establishing alliances among rural communities, private enterprises and local governments in order to promote the development of the responsible tourism market in the northern region of Ecuador. The general objective of the project is to contribute to reducing poverty by including small-scale producers from rural communities in the dynamics of tourism promotion in the provinces of Imbabura and Carchi, and specifically to achieve the following results: 1) The Responsible Tourism Network will develop and sustain the responsible and inclusive tourism value chain in the provinces of Imbabura and Carchi; 2) A multisectoral partnership will be formed among local stakeholders (small producers and private community) and national and international tourism operators; 3) Local governments of the northern Andean highlands will be strengthened in their ability to promote responsible, inclusive tourism.

The project will build the capacity of 20 community and private companies and of 2,000 people.
