MILPAS is an integrated sustainable agricultural management project. The principal elements of promotion are composed of technical and financial assistance through local organizations.
The project's strategic objective is to reduce the poverty level of 3,200 families in 80 rural communities in 4 Municipalities of the Polochic watershed basin, by improving sustainable agricultural practices; and to indirectly impact 5000 families by means of the strengthening of community and intermediary organizations.
The project is composed of two components: a) Strengthening of community and intermediary organizations and b) Improvement of sustainable agriculture practices.
CARE will be working closely with the municipalities. As well, possible NGO partners which have been identified include FUNDEMI, FUNMMAYAN and Proyecto Desarrollo Quetzal. |
