This program supports all CARE agriculture and natural resource projects in Maradi Region to pursue three
interrelated objectives. The first is to increase the ability of women to negotiate a more equitable division of work, assets, benefits and risk within their households. The second is to help women accumulate and protect the
productive assets that are necessary to build and sustain a secure livelihood. The third is to help more vulnerable
households achieve secure livelihoods, which can include helping them replace lost productive assets. All project
activities are participatory and demand-driven. Participants take part in situation analysis and needs assessments, project design, implementation, and evaluation and in other decision-making processes and events. |
