The areas of intervention of the project are the 6 municipalities of the Esteli, Matagalpa, Jinotega and Matagalpa departments. These departments are located in the north central area of Nicaragua.
PROGEDES will address three segments. At the community level, 46 schools with their respective educational communities (students, families and teachers) in areas of high poverty, both rural and peri-urban. These include approximately 11,816 students of primary and pre-school ages, 880 mothers and parents, 432 education personnel and 128 voluntary facilitators (13,256 direct beneficiaries).
Indirect beneficiaries include 5,000 additional residents who participate in the committees and activities in the 46 schools and members of the educational communities of additional schools, where the replication of this experience is being promoted.
Both boys and girls will attend the school, but more women than men and more mothers than fathers will participate in trainings, committees and other activities. At regional and national levels 1,122 students and professors will be direct beneficiaries of trainings and technical assistance and 2,330 will benefit indirectly from training. |
