Project Name:CORE Group Polio Project (CGPP)
Project Description:
The goal of CGPP is to contribute to polio eradication by increasing population immunity and enhancing the sensitivity of surveillance for acute flaccid paralysis (AFP). The project builds on lessons learned and approaches developed during the CORE Group Partners Project-Polio Eradication Initiative (CARE PEI)and expects to achieve a) increased number of CORE PVO members formally participating in CGPP (through a sub0grant) b) increased numbers of local NGOs participating in the CGPP (through a sub-grant) c) enhanced international partnerships for globally coordinated polio eradication d) increased number of children <60 months of age who are fully protected by "routine" child immunizations e) increased number of sub-grants targeting HRSs and vulnerable populations f) improved local capacity to conduct routine immunization g) increased PVO coverage among children <60 months of ago and h) increased number of AFP cases identified and reported in project areas in a timely manner according to WHO recommendations.
