The Project aims is - By 2009 women in the Churia region have enhanced skills and capacities to exercise their rights by addressing the policy and socio-cultural barriers that impede their political, social and economic empowerment and the implementation of UN Resolution 1325.
The project focuses to strengthen women’s capacities to protect and claim their basic rights by inclusive management of natural resources for improved livelihoods, enhanced psychosocial wellbeing and increased participation in peace building processes.
The expected results of th eproject are :
1 Women have enhanced competencies and capacities to access, control and manage natural resources for improved livelihoods;
2 Women claim their rights through supportive peace-building and natural-resource management policies, at local, institutional and national levels;
3 Women mobilize communities to enhance women’s agency and community support mechanisms, including psycho-social wellbeing;
4 In collaboration with partners and communities, CARE documents and disseminates lessons learned in relation to women’s rights attainment and psychosocial programming. |
