Project Description:
The general objective of this project is to complement and extend the Peruvian response to controlling HIV/AIDS infection through the strengthening of an articulated response between the different sectors of government and civil society, from a perspective of citizens' participation and respect for human rights. The goal set by the state and civil society is to control the epidemic and maintain the prevalence of HIV/AIDS at less than 1% in the general population (pregnant women) and less than 2% among sex workers and reduce it to less than 8% among MSM, as well as increasing access to quality integral attention for PLHIV to greater than 90% and to keep the less than 0.5 of VIH infected pregnant women.
Health promotion activities are focused on adolescents and young adults in cities with the greatest prevalence of STI/HIV/AIDS.
