Project Name:Sustainable Micro-credit Program for Hurricane Affected Areas in Usulutan
Project Description:
In Usulutan, CARE El Salvador, in association with its local microfinance partner Fundacion CAMPO, will use the $250,000 donation from CAMHRF, to create a revolving fund which will disburse micro-credit loans to at least 250 new clients in one year, in communities directly affected by Hurricane Stan. Thus, over a four year period, the fund would reach at least 1000 direct beneficiaries; the equivalent to approximately 5000 indirect beneficiaries (an average of five persons per rural household). The municipalities where the loans will be provided include: Jiquilisco, Puerto El Triunfo, San Dionisio, Concepcion Batres, Santa Maria, Santa Elena and Usulutan, all in the department of Usulutan.
