Project Name:Kigezi Business Development Services (BDS) Project
Project Description:
Kigezi Business Development Services (BDS) project will promote the development of BDS markets that service
enterprises undertaken by poor and marginalised people.

This will involve: Capacity assessment and strengthen of the district-level producer associations; Exploration of investment opportunities in non-farm BDS; Adding-value and export market potential; Piloting and promotion of newly developed BDS products; Initiating and developing relationships with agricultural commodity buyers and other potential markets; Exploring and promoting mechanisms to access inputs from private sector suppliers; advancing gender equity in BDS services provision; and, Policy research and advocacy.

By the end of the project, 25,000 capital and land poor HHs will have had access to and control over assets, natural resources, financial and business development services and market”.

The project will reach 25,000 households from the following categories of poor people in the districts of Kanungu, Kabale, and Kisoro:
- Subsistence smallholder producers;
- Households (HHs) involved in small enterprises;
- People living around Protected Areas (PA);
- Ethnic minorities; and,• Landless youth and women.

The project will be implemented in partnership with business development services facilitators/providers and producer associations.
