Activities:
In collaboration with African Wildlife Foundation and Conservation International:
1)Sustainable natural resource management practices applied:
-Landscape conservation management implemented in Maringa/Lopori
-Protected areas and forest reserves effectively managed
-Successful community enterprises established
-Management of forest concessions & plantations improved
2)Natural resource governance (institutions, policies, laws) strengthened
-Community-based forest management policy and institutional framework established
3) Natural resource monitoring institutionalized.
-Landscape level natural resource monitoring institutionalized

Final Goal: Reduce the rate of forest degradation and loss of biodiversity through increased local, national and regional natural resource management capacity.

Targeted participants: 1.9 million people in the landscape (although not all will be direct participants)

Area: Maringa / Lopori Wamba landscape encompassing 4.2 million hectares of lowland rain and swamp forest in Equateur Province of the DRC
