Project Name:Integrated Health Package (ZIHPCOMM)
Project Description:
CARE's Communication and Community Partnership Program is a component of ZIHP and focuses on improving the capacity of NHCs in 12 districts as mobilization agents. ZIHPCOMM works with and through the NHCs to increase service delivery at community level by responding to needs identified in the action plan of ZIHP or its partners. Specifically, the objectives of the project are: 1) to strengthen the NHCs' ability to provide leadership in the implementation of health activities at community level; promote health in the community by understanding the basic elements of the essential health care package and provide basic guidance at household level; contribute to the planning process by helping the community to develop its own action plan using the participatory learning and action methodology as a planning tool; and 2) to support the development and/or strengthening of Health Centre community partnerships by providing technical assistance for the development of community/NGO/NHC partnerships and supporting the Central Board of Health Community Health Innovation Fund to channel resources toward innovative health activities at community level which would culminate in centers of learning.
