CARE's Security Unit provides advice, coordination and training to CARE staff in the field in the areas of safety and security. Its responsibilities include:
Conducting security assessments for regional and country offices, using staff and qualified partners
Providing resident security expertise
Developing and implementing CARE safety and security policies and guidelines as well as providing input and representation in interagency efforts to formalize safety and security standards
Providing assistance to all CARE offices in assessment, implementation of security measures, and training;
Providing risk-management expertise to assist in CARE emergency response
Representing CARE at appropriate meetings, conferences, workshops, etc. with interagency working groups, donors, partner organizations and international and governmental organizations
Coordinating CARE’s involvement with national, international, joint and combined military staff
