Join the CARE Action Network!

Participants in CARE's National Conference discuss development issues with their legislators. (2006 David S. Holloway/CARE)

We can't overcome poverty alone. It takes many of us working together. It takes a worldwide movement of community groups, organizations like CARE, national governments — and people like you.

The CARE Action Network, or CAN, is a group of CARE supporters working to educate our nation's leaders about issues of global poverty. Together, we ask our elected officials to adopt policies that address the underlying causes of poverty, such as gender inequality and poor governance.

CAN helps you use your voice to shape U.S. policies that affect global poverty. Join thousands of other supporters around the country in speaking out on behalf of women, children and poor families around the world. As a CAN member, you'll have the chance to:

  • Gain a greater understanding of the impact of U.S. policies on global poverty
  • Draw inspiration from the people CARE works with in the developing world
  • Attend local meetings and events with other CAN members
  • Raise awareness of global poverty issues with our leaders, the media and the American public
  • Participate in the CARE National Conference in Washington, D.C.
