In the late 1980s, war forced thousands of children from their homes in Sudan. At great peril, they wandered across East Africa and ended up in refugee camps in Kenya. While many of the "Lost Boys of Sudan" eventually were resettled in America amid much fanfare, most of their female counterparts, the Lost Girls of Sudan, were left behind. They continue to await an uncertain future.
