Field Coordinators
Around the United States, CARE supporters have come together to lend their voices in support of policies that benefit the world's poor. Through our website, supporters communicate with elected officials, place articles in their local media and share successes and setbacks with the growing community of citizen advocates.
In addition, CARE has a team spread across the U.S. to help constituents build relationships with their elected officials . Field Coordinators educate and update advocates on CARE's legislative agenda, facilitate local events to raise awareness of CARE's work and help advocates build a local networks to give a voice to issues in the developing world. Suzanne Berman is the CARE Field Coordintator based in Austin, TX, covering the middle of the country and the Southwest Before joining CARE, Suzanne worked for Bread for the World on the ONE Campaign and the 2007 farm bill.

Derreck Kayongo joined CARE in 2003 and is currently the Southeast Field Coordinator. Before Coming to CARE, Derreck was the Deputy Regional Director for Amnesty International, a Program Director for the American Friends Service Committee and a member of the Africa desk at the Congressional Hunger Center.

Ellen Carmichael has been working with CARE advocates since 2008 and is a member of the Access Africa issue team. She has traveled with CARE to Rwanda and Peru and is an Ohio native. Prior to joining CARE, Ellen worked for the Ohio Sierra Club.

Giulia McPherson is the Deputy Director of
CARE's Citizen Advocacy overseeing the field team. She is based in San Francisco and leads CARE’s efforts to build and mobilize constituencies on behalf of U.S. policies that support the fight against global poverty.

Jeff comes to us from the Feingold Senate Committee where he was a Field Organizer. Prior to his time with the Senator's staff, Jeff was a Field Organizer for the Michael Bloomberg for Mayor campaign and Volunteer Coordinator for Michael Kearns for Mayor.

Terriah has been working with CARE since 2008 and has extensive experience in Latin America. Prior to coming to CARE, Terriah worked for CRISPAZ in El Salvador, leading delegations to post-confilct zones throughout the country. Terriah has a BA in International Relations from the University of Minnesota.
