Advocacy Toolkit
Election season is in full swing — candidates are meeting their constituents, policies are being honed and campaigns are really kicking into gear — it is time to make a difference!
With no incumbent running for president and every representative (and one-third of the Senators) up for re-election, it is a great time to encourage a shift in U.S. policies. Together, we can make fighting global poverty a priority for our elected officials.
Our online toolkit gives you several different ways to engage both incumbents and challengers in your hometowns — and you can be sure they'll be out learning what's on the minds of the voters!
You'll learn how to conduct effective meetings with candidates; how to maximize the benefits of personal interaction with candidates; how to use the media to advance your messages; and even how to host events and volunteer for the candidates you believe in. You'll learn about the pressing issues on CARE's agenda, and how best to advance those issues to the candidates. Finally, you'll see that giving a voice to the voiceless in the American political system is not so hard, yet it is incredibly rewarding!
