NEWS:
Chicago Teen Develops Coloring Book to Raise Donations for CARE Honduras
After visiting a Tegucigalpa garbage dump where children dig through trash to find things to eat or recycle rather than go to school, Kaelyn Malkoski, 17, decided that she needed to share what she saw with other American children. Upon returning to her suburban Chicago home, Kaelyn set out to create a coloring book to illustrate the lives of the children from the dump in order to raise awareness and understanding of how millions of children around the world live everyday. Through the coloring book, she hopes to raise $10,000 to support the education in Honduras. The coloring book, appropriate for ages 5-11, not only serves as a meaningful gift for children but a starting point for discussing important and challenging global issues with them.
Suggested donation: $10
To receive a copy of the coloring book, please fill out the order form and mail along with your donation to:

Undergraduates, nonprofit workers, policy makers and academics gathered at the 2009 Northwestern University Conference on Human Rights to examine the complexities behind
humanitarian initiatives. Although human rights standards and the promise of a better life are implicit in
the humanitarian principle, human rights violations can nevertheless occur when aid is misapplied and
mishandled.
