A POWERFUL NOISE Live
Thursday, March 5, 2009
In celebration of International Women’s Day, CARE and NCM Fathom – in partnership with ONE and the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women – presented A POWERFUL NOISE Live in more than 450 theatres nationwide. The evening began with a screening of the acclaimed documentary "A Powerful Noise." This remarkable film features three inspiring women, who overcome daily challenges to achieve significant victories over poverty and oppression. Immediately following the film, former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, CARE Advocate Christy Turlington Burns, Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Nicholas D. Kristof, actress and activist Natalie Portman and CARE President and CEO held a town hall discussion that was broadcast live into each theatre. The film’s executive producer Sheila C. Johnson was on hand to make a special announcement!
Pre-orders of the "A Powerful Noise" DVD will begin on May 5, 2009. Join our e-mail list for a reminder.
