(December 25, 2009) - Today CARE, a humanitarian organization that fights global poverty by empowering marginalized women and girls, released the following statement from Dr. Helene Gayle, CARE president and CEO, on the confirmation of Dr. Rajiv Shah as the new head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID):
