Photos of recovery: CARE helps returning families in Kosovo repair roofs for winter shelter.

Many homes were burned or severely damaged during the recent conflict in Kosovo, leaving families to face the winter without shelter. To help them recover, the international relief and development organization CARE is working with Kosovars to salvage hundreds of homes and secure adequate protection for families during the brutal winter months. In December 1999, CARE's press officer in Kosovo, Alix de Mauny, visited areas where CARE is working to re-establish the livelihood of families in the wake of the conflict. The following is a photo essay of CARE's roofing projects in the Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Glogavac and Liplijan areas.
