Writer: Lynn Heinisch is CARE's press officer for Southern and West Africa, based in Atlanta. She has traveled throughout the region, documenting CARE's relief and development activities. A former journalist, she previously lived in Benin, West Africa, where she helped run an elementary school library.

Photographer: Tim Zielenbach is an American Photojournalist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is affiliated with Contact Press Images in New York and Paris, and his work is often seen in publications in Europe and the United States. Tim's assignments have taken him from Reykjavik to Timbuktu, and his work has been honored by the World Press Photo Foundation and the National Press Photographers Association's Pictures of the Year contests. His coverage of the famine and civil war in Somalia was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in feature photography.
