The CARE Women's Network (CWN) is a community of dynamic and dedicated women leaders in Atlanta who are committed to CARE’s mission of saving lives, defeating poverty, and achieving social justice through leadership, philanthropy, collaboration, volunteerism, and advocacy.

A Network Connecting Women with Impact

Our community is made up of women leaders from many different walks of life who are all invested in seeing a better world for women and girls everywhere. Through our work we’ve fostered a local network of likeminded women who amplify each other’s engagement and drive important conversations.

Our Impact

  • To keep our advocacy sharp and informed, we organize and participate in educational events that host dedicated CARE staff, partners, program participants, and other experts who can bring their experiences and creative, global solutions to us.
  • Both locally, and on Capitol Hill, we advocate around the issues that impact CARE’s mission.
  • Through our network’s philanthropy, we raise flexible financial resources that are directed to the areas of greatest need and impact.

Our Team is Led by Its Members

The CARE Women’s Network is galvanizing a growing and active community of women led by co-chairs Kate Scully and Meg Snider. CARE Senior Director of Stewardship, Marifel Verlohr, works closely with the network’s leadership to strategize impact and to make sure events and initiatives are issue focused and member informed.

Kate Scully

Kate is a practicing attorney that holds tightly to dreams of helping to save the world. With two young girls at home, Kate sees how access to education, food, and safety are critical to her daughter’s lives – and how those are not a given for all too many women and girls across our world. Kate joined the CWN in 2019 with a fierce passion to spread CARE’s mission and grow the Atlanta chapter of the CWN.

Meg Snider

Meg is a User Experience consultant that wants to make the digital world more accessible for everyone. An avid traveler, she has seen the difference between societies that lift up women and girls’ causes and those that fall short. Determined to do her part, she was grateful to be introduced to CWN several years ago and is excited to serve the group’s efforts going forward.

Marifel Verlohr

Marifel Verlohr is the Sr. Director of Stewardship for the Major Gifts and Planned Giving team at CARE USA. With over 15 years of leadership experience in non-profit organizations, Marifel has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to engage and mobilize global teams for volunteer philanthropic support. Marifel is thrilled to work with the CARE Women’s Network and to continue to build a strong network of global women leaders.

Our Network Needs More Women Like You

Empowering women and girls through education, economic opportunity, and choice can lift whole communities out of poverty.
