The Wall Street Journal: Swaths of Southern Africa Remain Inundated Following Cyclone Idai

The Wall Street Journal quoted Caroline Kende-Robb, CARE International’s secretary general, on the aftermath conditions from Cyclone Idai in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malwai. More than 750 people died and there has been extensive damage to water supplies and sanitation infrastructure, a rise in infections, trapped survivors, and challenges to deliver aid. With all that has occurred moving forward will be difficult as Kende-Robb stated, “all signs show that it’s a crisis with long-term repercussions.” Read more here.
