Child marriage happens for people of all religions, countries, incomes, and levels of education. It disproportionately affects girls around the world because people do not always value girls, their rights, well-being, and potential. Beyond that common cause, each community has complex and particular reasons for child marriage, and any solution for child marriage must come from local solutions. CARE matches our strategies to the drivers of child marriage in each context. Only then can we bring about an end to child marriage.
CARE works with local partners to make sure that we are building solutions that work for the communities that we serve.
