Africa is the world’s second-largest continent, and home to 54 countries. It is a place of rich diversity, countless resources, geological wonders, and has a daily connection to hundreds of millions of people around the world.

CARE has worked in Africa since 1954, starting with food programs in Egypt and expanding across the continent in response to growing needs.

Today, CARE facilitates one of the world’s largest microsavings programs, helps keep children in school, helps communities build waterpoints, assists farmers and fishers, and responds to crises.
