One of the biggest challenges of 2010 was the response to the devastating January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti. In the midst of this massive emergency, CARE developed a comprehensive, five-year plan to assist Haitians as they rebuild their lives and communities - with the goal not to simply rebuild, but to build back better in ways that help Haitians become less vulnerable to emergencies and disasters.
