Michelle Nunn is President and CEO of CARE, one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations, leading 7,000+ staff across 100+ countries to reach nearly 60 million people annually. Since becoming CEO in 2015, she has nearly doubled CARE’s revenue at its height and doubled humanitarian reach, built the world’s largest savings group network (30 million people, 67 countries), and led the organization’s response to crises from COVID to Ukraine and Gaza — while launching CARE’s first-ever domestic U.S. programs.
Previously, Michelle was founding CEO of Hands On Atlanta and later led Points of Light, mobilizing millions of volunteers worldwide. In 2014, she ran for U.S. Senate as the first woman in Georgia history elected as the Democratic nominee.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia with a Master’s from Harvard’s Kennedy School, Michelle has been recognized by Fast Company, the Nonprofit Times, and three honorary degrees for her leadership in service and social impact.
