Country Description:
CARE Egypt was established in 1954. Until 1967, CARE was involved in a nationwide school feeding program. Between 1977 and 1986, a relief feeding program was added for Sinai Bedouin. Since then, CARE has become actively involved in development programming in agriculture, fisheries, community development, small economic activity development and education. CARE's current projects focus on building the capacity of community-based non-governmental organizations to carry out development projects independently.
