| Project Description: |
EQUIPE is a USAID initiative managed by a consortium, led by Creative Associates, of which CARE is a
member. The project`s objectives are to: 1) increase children's access to and retention in primary schools; 2)
improve the quality of education through inter-related strategies including an improved and more relevant curriculum
and improved teachers' teaching skills; 3) enhance community and civil society participation in the decentralized
school management system; and 4) strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Education in planning, financial
management and in mainstreaming HIV/AIDS education in the school system. In the EQUIPE team, CARE is
responsible for strengthening civil society, promoting community participation and building the capacity of the Ministry
of Education to conceive and adopt strategies that mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS on the education sector. |
