Project Description:
CARE's goal in the Bushfire Management and Rural Livelihoods in Northern Ghana (BURN) project is to contribute to livelihood improvement in poor farming communities in Ghana's Savannah Area via better environmental and natural resource management. Working in partnership with the University of Development Studies in Northern Ghana and the University of Copenhagen, CARE's work involves developing and implementing models for effective community bushfire management systems that combine research findings with field experience, and contributing to the bushfire policy and improving legislation at local, district and national levels.
