| CARE Honduras, with the financial support from cooperating agencies and private donors, has been executing programmatic initiatives for the integration of production processes, peasant entrepreneural development and agro-industrial export in the Northwestern region of Honduras, specifically in the Departments of Santa Barbara, Copan, Lempira and Yoro. The objectives of this project are to: learn about the feasibility of rehabilitating banana crops that result in formal business relationships among producers, EACTSU, Chiquita Brands, and the government sector to increase production and exportation of Honduran bananas with CARE's leadership; and learn about an alliance building process between CARE, the private sector and the civil society for the promotion of Entrepreneural Social Responsibility that promotes learning and innovative practices that maximize the impact in the reduction of poverty and the promotion of sustainable development. |
