Project Name:Strengthening Civil Society Organizations to Combat HIV/AIDS
Project Description:
The Governement of Niger (GoN) has recieved funds from World Bank to undertake a multi-sector HIV/AIDS program. This component of the multisector program is related to civil society actors strengthening so that they could provide assistance to population to increase prevention and care against HIV/AIDS pandemy. CARE Niger has received funds from GoN to implement the program in Maradi, Zinder and Diffa regions. For that purpose, CARE Niger will work closely with NGOs and CBOs to prepare and fund micro-projects aiming at reinforcing awareness as regards HIV/AIDS, to develop prevention actions to combat HIV/AIDS, and to provide suppport and care to people HIV positive.The national program is 5 year duration. CARE Niger and the GoN agreed upon a two year phasis (contract to be formally approved after one year implementation). After these two years, the program will be reviewed and necessary adjustments will be done to improve the service delivered to pouplation as regards HIV/AIDS.
