Project Name:Addressing the Underlying Poverty Issues through Partnership and Alliance building
Project Description:
Through this project CARE International UK and CARE Nepal work together towards strengthening CARE Nepal's progarmming in urban areas, Kathmandu valley and Chitwan. This partnership aims to imporve CARE Nepal's ubran development practice and slowly 'grow it out' in a well-grounded, professional way. The strategic agreement, Addressing the Underlying Poverty Issues through Partnership and Alliance Building, will be able to address matters particularly relevant to its key urban target population - women and youth-at an entirely different level which is completely new component in CARE Nepal's context.

In order to acheive the objective successfully, there is a mutual understanding that the process of analysis, learning and experimentation must be as inward-looking as it is outward-looking. For example, field trails of new tools or evaluate policy, or exercise to create a baseline on governance relationship (both valuable skill and knowledge-building activities) might be accompanied by experimental internal reflection and lesson learned documentation workshops. Essential for making sure new knowledge and skills become exchange might occur at the same time as different programmes or sectors within CARE Nepal development objective of the programme is to: "To increase the awareness and the response capacities of the local communities in Nepal to potential and frequent natural disasters and to reduce the effects of these disasters on the most vulnerable populations."
