Project Name:Safe Passage
Project Description:
The Safe Passage project of CARE Nepal will strengthen organizational and technical capacity of people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) networks and local non-governmental organizations (NGO) for HIV and AIDS responses. The project aims to reduce the vulnerability and impact of HIV and AIDS on mobility-affected individuals and their families in Kailali, Doti, and Dadeldhura Districts of far western Nepal by December 2012. This project will be implemented in partnership with National Association of PLWHA in Nepal (NAP+N), Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS), Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO) and Forum for Awareness and Youth Activities Nepal (FAYA). The project will reach 24,000 mobile population (men and male youth), 120,000 family members (including spouses, unmarried women, adolescent girls, youth, widows), and 300 PLWHA. Through the implementing partners CARE Nepal will channel technical and financial support to mobile population and their families, thus reducing the vulnerability and impact of HIV and AIDS.
