| The Project aims at improving the situation of the rural women in one of the districts of Hiran in the central regions of Southern Somalia by November 2005. It will complement an ongoing Food-For-Work project which is implemented by SALSAN NGO with the support of CARE Somalia. The expected results are: improved income for poor households, empowered women who are more able to play important roles in the society s public affairs and improved nutritional status for children of the targeted households. A total of 310 mobile poultry houses and 4650 chickens will be distributed to 310 women. The communities in project areas will benefit from training in poultry farming. Pamplets and leaflets will be distrubuted to the beneficiaries. | |
