Project Goal(s): To address the humanitarian needs of the vulnerable segments of the Palestinian population in the occupied Palestinian territories, affected by the deterioration of the humanitarian situation./ Community members in the West Bank and Gaza have improved access to quality health care and water enabling them and professionals (medical/municipality staff) to manage health and hygiene risks;
Project Outputs and/or Results:
Results 1
At least 62 health facilities operational to meet quality primary health care needs of individuals in the West Bank and Gaza
Result 2
Selected communities in the West Bank and Gaza have better and improved access to water
Result 3
Selected communities in West Bank and Gaza have access to health, hygiene and water management information that allows them to protect and promote their own health and well-being
Key Activities:
Start-up Phase
- Project start-up phase (initiating tendering, finalising MoUs, staffing, coordination meetings with the partners in the different districts, visiting the communities, ...etc)
- Develop questionnaire for the service satisfaction
Activity for expected Result 1
- Develop, finalize, and implement work plans for mobile teams/out-reach health services.
- Agreement on the reports to be submitted by the partners, policies and regulations,
- Supply pharmaceuticals and medical disposables/supplies, medical equipment to health care facilities in West Bank & Gaza
- Conduct interviews with beneficiaries to measure the service satisfaction
- Analysis of the data
Activity for expected Result 2
- Construct water carrier and filling point
- Construct water harvesting systems (cisterns) for households in targeted communities
- Connect main water networks and wells in selected areas
- Connect water wells with the nearby electricity network in Gaza
Activity for expected Result 3
- Conduct community based health/hygiene, water management awareness-raising activities
- Capacity building of health professionals
- Capacity building of municipal water staff and village council members
