The Project Hondurans in Partnership for Quality Education (PROHACE), is a broad initiative intended to provide educatonal security in rural Honduras, specifically in those south western regions where CARE works.
The project will reinforce CARE's initiatives in the Department of La paz, specifically the Programming for Household Livelihood Security in the South Western region, striving to develop a strategy for Educational security. The implementation of PROHACE in the Municipality of Guajiquiro will enable CARE to test and evaluate the educational security strategies proposed. Based on experiences and accomplishments, it is anticipated that the actions of PROHACE could be extented to other regions where CARE operates.
The main strategies proposed are:a) the active participation of local stakeholders and clients in the design, organization and implementation of the project, b) learning by doing, c) the development of the project through partnerships that share in the process, assuring the integregation and coordination with other CARE and Municipal initiatives, d) the provision of role models and behavioral changes and e) consolidation of actions that assure sustainability of the project. |
