Project Information
| Project Name: | Project Ciwara Kenya: Cercle Level Health Progam in Mali |
| Project Description: | |
| The project employs a mix of proven and innovative measures to increase the use of high impact health services at the district (cercle) and community health center (CSCOM) levels. It aims to promote excellence at three levels, first by creating discerning, responsible health care consumers at the household level; second, by having these consumers band together to constitute proactive communities with a high economic and social demand for quality health care, in turn pushing those on the supply side of health services (GOM officials; health care providers; medical supply companies, etc.); and third, by promoting quality health care services that reinforce behaviors aimed at reducing the most common sources of morbidity and mortality among Malian mothers and children. A consortium of five organizations led by CARE implements this project. Other partner organizations are the Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP), Action against Hunger, IntraHealth International and Groupe Pivot/Sante Population (GS/SP).
