Instructions for Enabling JavaScript

Much of the functionality on CARE's Web site requires that JavaScripts be enabled in your browser. Information on how to enable JavaScript in most Internet browsers is provided below. If your browser is not listed please visit the site of the company that provides your particular browser and search for "enable javascript"

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7

  1. click on "Tools" button located in the right part of the screen"
  2. From the drop down menu select "Internet Options
  3. From Internet Options, select the "Security" tab.
  4. Click Custom Level.
  5. Scroll down to "Scripting," make sure "Active Scripting" is set to Enable.
  6. Click "OK."
  7. Click "Yes" or "OK" if asked, "Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone."
  8. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  9. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.

Firefox 1.5.x, Firefox 2 and Firefox 3

  1. Select "Options..." from the Tools menu.
  2. Click on the "Content" tab section.
  3. Check the box labeled "Enable JavaScript".
  4. Click "OK."
  5. Reload the current page.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x

  1. On the menu bar click on "Tools" then "Internet Options."
  2. From Internet Options, select the "Security" tab.
  3. Click Custom Level.
  4. Scroll down to "Scripting," make sure "Active Scripting" is set to Enable.
  5. Click "OK."
  6. Click "Yes" or "OK" if asked, "Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone."
  7. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  8. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x for Macintosh

  1. From the browser's Edit menu select "Preferences..."
  2. Within the left-hand pick list, expand the item group Web Browser (if necessary).
  3. Under the item group labeled Web Browser, select Web Control.
  4. Check the box labeled Enable JavaScript and push the OK button to close the Internet Explorer Preferences dialog box.
  5. Refresh the current page.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x

  1. On the menu bar click on "View" then "Internet Options."
  2. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  3. Scroll down to "Scripting," section.
  4. Set "Active Scripting" to "Enable."
  5. Click "OK."
  6. Click "Yes" or "OK"
  7. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  8. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.

Netscape 7.x

  1. From the browser's Edit menu select "Preferences..."
  2. Within the Category pick list, expand the Advanced item by clicking on the triangle twisty.
  3. Next, select the subitem labled Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Within the Scripts & Plugins window, check "Navigator" under the Enable JavaScript for grouping. In the Allow Scripts to pane, make sure items regarding cookies are checked.
  5. Push the OK button to close the Preferences dialog box.
  6. Reload the current page.

Netscape 6.x

  1. From the browser's Edit menu select "Preferences..."
  2. Within the Category pick list, select the word Advanced.
  3. Check the box labeled Enable JavaScript for Navigator and push the OK button to close the Preferences dialog box.
  4. Reload the current page.

Netscape Communicator 4.x

  1. Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  2. Find the "Enable JavaScript" section in the "Advanced" category.
  3. Select "Enable JavaScript ".
  4. Click "OK."
  5. Close all open Netscape windows and then relaunch Netscape.

Firefox 1.0.x

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click Web Features in the Options list.
  3. Under the Web Features section, check the box next to Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced JavaScript Options box.
  5. Check the boxes under Allow scripts to section that you want to allow.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close all open Firefox windows and then relaunch Firefox.

Mozilla

  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. Double click Advanced in the Category list.
  3. Select Scripts & Plugins from the menu.
  4. Under the Enable JavaScript for section, check the box next to Navigator.
  5. Check the boxes under Allow scripts to section that you want to allow.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Close all open Mozilla windows and then relaunch Mozilla.

Opera 6.x and 7.x

  1. Open Opera.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Quick Preferences.
  3. Click Enable JavaScript.
  4. Reload the current page.
