Stacy Aldinger

Stacy Aldinger is CARE’s Chief Impact and Innovation Officer, where she leads the organization’s global impact agenda across program strategy, innovation, technical excellence, and evidence and learning. She oversees teams responsible for designing evidence-based programs that deliver impact at scale through innovative partnerships, digital and AI-enabled models, and rigorous standards for program quality and cost-effectiveness.

Previously, Stacy served as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer and Chief of Staff to the CEO, partnering closely in CARE’s executive leadership team to drive organizational excellence through enterprise strategy, people, and operational transformation. In these roles, she led organization-wide strategy, planning, and performance; led CARE’s transformation agenda; oversaw the Office of the President and internal communications; managed the Board of Directors; and served as CEO proxy to CARE’s international confederation governance bodies.

An experienced nonprofit executive and team builder, Stacy is known for integrating data-driven rigor with a zeal for simplicity, efficiency, and execution. Her leadership is grounded in systems thinking and a people-centered approach to change, with a focus on building resilient, inclusive, and high-performing teams that can navigate complex change and deliver results.

A “tri-sector athlete,” Stacy’s career spans the humanitarian, international development, and health sectors, with leadership experience at CARE, McKinsey & Company, and across U.S. federal government and international institutions. At McKinsey, she specialized in large-scale strategic and operational transformations, including designing programs to reduce healthcare costs while improving outcomes.

Earlier in her career, Stacy held roles with the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Asylum Program, and UN Women in Beijing. She holds a dual MPH/MBA from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in International Relations from American University. A Fulbright and Truman Scholar and Aspen Institute SOAR Fellow, she has served on the California Senate Advisory Commission on Cost Control and on the boards of The Children’s Initiative, and the San Francisco Women’s Community Clinic.
