For years, Delta Air Lines has been a vital partner in CARE's mission. One way Delta supports CARE and other chartitable organizations is through its innovative SkyWish program.
While CARE remains one of Delta's SkyWish partners – and will be able to use miles generously donated to our account – we will be unable to receive SkyMiles® donations in 2008 as it is our turn to rotate off of the donation list.
Delta inaugurated CARE's SkyWish account with a donation of 100,000 miles, and since then has matched every five miles donated with one mile. These donated miles help CARE in two important ways: Not only can the miles be used to reach those we assist throughout the world, the donated miles also enable CARE to channel even more resources to support our projects in poor communities around the world.
"The SkyWish program is Delta's way to empower our frequent fliers to make a real difference in the world," said Paul Matsen, senior vice-president of corporate planning at Delta Air Lines. "We believe in CARE and its mission, and we know that the money CARE saves on air travel through SkyWish will help them be even more efficient in helping the world's poor families."
