Jay Hallik is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Spread Products and Co-Head of Commodities for Morgan Stanley Fixed Income Division. Jay sits on the Firm Management Committee as well as the Fixed Income Operating Committee.
Jay joined Morgan Stanley in 2000 as an Associate based in New York and was promoted to Managing Director in 2007. During that period, Jay held various structuring, trading, and syndicate roles in Securitized Products, including Head of Subprime Mortgage Trading & Asset-Backed Syndicate and Global Head of Trading for the group. In 2013, Jay’s responsibilities expanded to include Asset-Based Lending and New Issue when he became the Global Head of Securitized Products. In 2016, Jay was promoted to running all Spread Products (Credit Corporates, Municipals, and Securitized Products) and in 2020, expanded his responsibilities to co-head of Commodities.
Prior to joining the Firm, Jay worked as a management consultant with a focus on operations and strategy consulting. He holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree from McGill University and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University.
