Michelle Nunn

President and CEO

Michelle Nunn leads more than 7,000 people working in 121 countries to save lives and defeat poverty. In her 10 years at the helm, CARE has taken its fundraising and impact to new levels, reaching more than 58.7 million people in 2025. Michelle believes in solidarity, that lasting impact comes from people advocating for change at the community level, and that the most powerful tools are often also the simplest.

She co-founded the volunteer-mobilization nonprofit Hands On Atlanta, led its 2007 merger with President George H.W. Bush’s Points of Light, and was Points of Light CEO for six years. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia with a major in history and minor in religion; earned a master’s in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and received a Kellogg Fellowship to study faith and social justice in more than 12 countries. She lives in Atlanta with her family.

Ramesh Singh

Regional Director for Asia

Ramesh brings more than 26 years of leadership experience across humanitarian response, recovery, and long-term development in Asia and Africa. He previously served as the Country Director for CARE Bangladesh and has led country teams in Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Ethiopia with Mercy Corps, in addition to senior roles with CRS, Medical Teams International, Hope Worldwide, and Counterpart International.

His experience spans large-scale disaster response, support for refugees and internally displaced people, resilience, and development programming in India, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. He has deep experience in resource mobilization, building partnerships, and leading high-performing teams, as well as working alongside governments, communities, institutional donors, private foundations, and the private sector.

Ramesh holds a MPhil in Political Studies from School of Social Sciences in Jawaharlal Nehru University, India.

Manu Sharma headshot

Manu Sharma

Senior Director, Principal Gifts

Manu Sharma has nearly two decades of experience across humanitarian response, global development, advocacy, and high-value philanthropy. She now serves as Senior Director of Principal Gifts at CARE, where she builds partnerships with philanthropists and family foundations to advance CARE’s mission.

Her career began at the International Rescue Committee. As an early member of its first Principal Giving team, she helped secure over $25 million from major donors and foundations and worked closely with CEO David Miliband, senior leadership, and the board. During her tenure with ACLU, Manu worked directly with the Executive Director to manage a $74M portfolio of the organization’s most committed supporters. Throughout her career, Manu’s approach to high-value philanthropy has been rooted in her education, personal experience, and time in the field across South Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East — all of which continue to shape how she engages donors and partners today.

Manu holds a BA in Economics with a minor in English from Barnard College, Columbia University. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, and enjoys photography, film, writing, and travel.

Paige Moody

Senior Advisor to the CEO

Paige Moody is a strategic advisor and seasoned leader with a distinguished career in nonprofit fundraising, board development and engagement, and strategic gap-filling. Currently serving as Senior Advisor to the CEO at CARE, she has spearheaded transformative fundraising initiatives, including CARE’s $150M Crisis Response Campaign and its 75th Anniversary Campaign featuring four U.S. Presidents.

With a strong background in marketing, relationship-building, and social impact, Paige began her career in the private sector but was drawn into the nonprofit world when Atlanta hosted the 1996 Olympics. She has since held pivotal roles at UNICEF, Points of Light, and the Nunn for Senate Campaign, consistently driving innovation and growth.

Paige holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a BA from Florida State University.

Le Kim Dung

Country Director

Le Kim Dung (pronounced Dzung) is a respected development leader with 30 years of experience in women’s empowerment, equality for women and girls, disaster risk reduction, climate change, civil society development, ethnic minority issues, and corporate engagement. She has served as Country Director of CARE in Viet Nam since February 2016, providing strategic leadership to advance women’s empowerment, inclusive development, and community resilience.

Prior to her work with CARE, she held senior leadership roles at Oxfam GB, including seven years as Country Representative in Viet Nam and six years as Program Manager for Advocacy and Campaigns. Her extensive experience in advocacy and development has contributed to policies and programs supporting at-risk and marginalized communities.

She holds a degree in Russian Language and a master’s degree in development studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Ha Thi Quynh Nga

Business Development Director

Nga Ha is a climate and social impact specialist with over 15 years of experience working across climate action, equality for women and girls, sustainable agriculture, financial inclusion, and market-based solutions. She designs scalable, finance-ready models that help at-risk communities, particularly women and ethnic minorities, adapt to climate change and participate in more resilient and inclusive value chains.

Nga has led complex development initiatives and strategic partnerships with donors, governments, private-sector actors, and impact-driven enterprises. Over the past five years, she has mobilized more than USD 25 million for climate, equality, and livelihoods programs, including initiatives across the Mekong region. Her expertise spans system-level program design, blended finance, ESG integration, climate-smart technologies, and transformative approaches.

At CARE Viet Nam, Nga also provides strategic oversight of marketing, communications, and innovation, helping strengthen organizational positioning, partnerships, and influence. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and International Studies from Hanoi University.

Le Xuan Hieu

Climate Resilience and Humanitarian Program Manager

Le Xuan Hieu is the Climate Resilience and Humanitarian Program Manager at CARE International in Viet Nam. He has over 20 years of experience in climate resilience, humanitarian response, women’s economic empowerment, and rural development. Now, he leads the design and implementation of programs that help communities, particularly women, prepare for and respond to climate change, disasters, and other shocks.

Hieu‘s work brings together climate adaptation, resilient livelihoods, financial inclusion, and equality for women and girls. He works closely with government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, and local communities to develop and scale locally led solutions. His combination of technical expertise and field experience brings a practical perspective to addressing the interconnected changes of climate risk, poverty, and social inequality.

Hieu holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the Viet Nam National University of Agriculture and a bachelor’s degree in international business economics from Foreign Trade University, Viet Nam.

Marketing and Communications Manager

Nguyen Thi Kieu Trang is a communications and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience across international development, financial services, technology, and education. She currently serves as Marketing and Communications Manager at CARE in Viet Nam, leading organizational communications strategy, media relations, digital engagement, branding, campaigns, and external communications.

Previously, she spent nearly a decade with ChildFund in Viet Nam and held communications roles at HSBC Bank Vietnam, ePi Technology, and Apollo Education and Training.

Trang holds an MSc in Marketing and Sales Services from ESCP Europe and a BA in English Pedagogy from Thang Long University.

Keoamphone Souvannaphoum (Keo)

Country Director

Keoamphone Souvannaphoum (Keo) brings 20 years of experience in the development sector to her role as Country Director for CARE in Laos. She has worked extensively in Laos and across the wider Mekong region, with a strong focus on equality for women and girls, women’s economic empowerment, community development, strengthening civil society, and private sector engagement.

Her work focuses on advancing equal rights, opportunities, and economic participation for women and girls while building partnerships that support inclusive, locally rooted government. She has extensive experience working with government, civil society, development partners, and the private sector.

Before to joining CARE International in Lao PDR as Country Director, Keo served as Country Director of ChildFund Laos.

She holds a Graduate Certificate in Childhood and Youth Studies from Southern Cross University, Australia.

Phetphouthone Soulinethavong (Phet)

Administration Manager

With 20 years of experience at CARE Laos, Phetphouthone has extensive experience in administration and operational management. His responsibilities include procurement, safety and security, fleet management, asset management, visa processing, and government liaison. He has a strong understanding of CARE’s programs, opportunities for women and girls, and commitment to supporting at-risk communities in Lao PDR.

Communications Coordinator

With over eight years of experience in communications and development, Lyxay has worked with CARE International in Lao PDR, ChildFund Laos, IUCN Lao PDR. His focus includes strategic communications, media and advocacy, digital content, storytelling, campaign development, and community engagement. He is passionate about using communications and storytelling to amplify community voices and support positive change.

Lyxay holds a Master’s degree for Communication and Management from the National University of Laos.

Reiza S. Dejito

Country Director

Reiza Dejito is the Country Director of CARE Philippines and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Philippine Inclusive NGO Network (PINGON), a network of 48 international, national, and local NGOs. She also serves on the Philippine Humanitarian Country Team and the Grand Bargain National Reference Group, where she advocates for greater leadership, decision-making power, and direct funding for local and national actors.

At CARE, Reiza leads a portfolio spanning humanitarian response, anticipatory action, climate resilience, health systems strengthening, peacebuilding, resilient livelihoods, and women’s economic empowerment. She has also guided the growth and diversification of CARE Philippines’ work while strengthening partnerships with civil society, government, donors, and the private sector.

Reiza brings more than 17 years of humanitarian and development experience across Asia and Africa. Before joining CARE, she held country and regional leadership roles with Humanity & Inclusion, formerly Handicap International, and served as Agency Director of Children International Manila, overseeing programs reaching approximately 25,000 children and young people.

She began her career as a physical therapist working in a public hospital, an experience that continues to shape her approach to leadership: grounded in the realities of the people CARE serves, and focused on inclusive, locally led action and meaningful accountability.

Mark Brayn Young

Head of Programs for Humanitarian Action, Climate and Disaster Resilience

Mark Brayn Yaung is Head of Programs for Humanitarian Action, Climate, and Disaster Resilience at CARE Philippines and a member of the Senior Management Team. He leads work across humanitarian response, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and peacebuilding, with a focus on emergency preparedness, anticipatory action, locally led humanitarian action, and long-term resilience. He also leads resource mobilization and strategic partnerships and champions CARE’s localization agenda by strengthening the role of local and national organizations in preparing for and responding to crises.

Before joining CARE, Mark served as Country Program Manager with the American Red Cross Philippine Country Office, where he led disaster risk reduction and climate resilience programs, including USAID-funded work on community preparedness and nature-based solutions. He also contributed to Philippine Red Cross strategies on climate and anticipatory action.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education from Philippine Normal University Visayas and a Diploma in Organizational Development from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

Erica Chester A. Bucog

Disaster Risk Reduction Manager

Erica Bucog is the Disaster Risk Reduction Manager at CARE Philippines, where she provides technical oversight and leadership across Climate and Disaster Resilience programs, including disaster risk reduction, anticipatory action, climate change adaptation, and ecosystem management under CARE’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) approach.

Erica brings more than 14 years of experience in humanitarian and development work across the Philippines and has managed large-scale, donor-funded programs focused on preparedness, resilience, and climate adaptation. Before joining CARE, she served as Project Manager for Disaster Preparedness and Program Director for Luzon at ACCORD, Inc. She brings strong skills in multi-hazard risk assessment, anticipatory action, advocacy, partnership building, and technical capacity-building for resilience and risk reduction.

Erica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies from the University of the Philippines Manila.

Mary Therese Norbe headshot

Mary Therese Norbe

Development Communication and Media Lead

Mary Therese “Matet” L. Norbe is a development communication and media practitioner with experience in human rights, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response. Her work focuses on using strategic communication to strengthen participation and influence and decision-making at local and national levels.

Matet joined CARE Philippines in 2019 as part of its emergency response team before taking on the role of Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist in June 2022.

Before CARE, she spent six years as Communication and Media Officer with the Mindanao Peoples’ Peace Movement, where she led campaigns supporting Indigenous Peoples’ rights and participation in the Bangsamoro peace process.

Her experience spans strategic communication, campaigns, newswriting, radio production, and photography, and knowledge products. She is a published writer whose work includes “Stories of Change: Weathering Climate Change” (2020), “The Harvest: Stories of Change” (2018), and “Stories of Change: The 15-Year Peace Journey” (2015).

Matet studied Political Science and Communication and Media Studies, with a major in Development Communication, at Mindanao State University in Marawi City.
