New York, October 17, 2025 — CARE, the global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and fighting poverty by working alongside women and girls, was recognized this week as the beneficiary of ELLE International’s 80th anniversary celebration.
The event, hosted by the French Consulate in Manhattan, marked the New York stop of a traveling art exhibition organized by ELLE that featured works by 31 women artists from around the world. The exhibition celebrates women’s creativity, courage, and vision—core values shared by both ELLE and CARE.
The evening included a panel about the importance of uplifting women’s voices. Artists Sacha Flock Poliakoff, Hadieh Shafie and Romana Nordal joined the panel alongside Erica Gonzales (Deputy Culture Editor, ELLE USA) and Locsi Ferrá (Director of Entertainment for Impact at CARE). The panel was moderated by Volandes Stellene (Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Décor and Town and Country).
The exhibition is part of ELLE’s global 80th anniversary celebration and is traveling from Osaka to Bangkok and New York before concluding in Paris, where the artworks will be displayed from November 7–14, 2025, and auctioned by Artcurial on November 14. All proceeds from the auction will benefit CARE’s humanitarian programs worldwide supporting and uplifting women and girls.
“Thank you to ELLE International for this extraordinary partnership, and to the incredible artists whose works honor women’s strength, creativity, and vision,” said Locsi Ferrá, Director of Entertainment for Impact. “We are proud to stand with ELLE as it celebrates 80 years of inspiring women and amplifying their voices. This collaboration reflects our shared belief that when women lead and create, they change the world.”
2025 also marks CARE’s 80th anniversary. Founded in 1945 with the creation of the original CARE PACKAGE@ — a way for Americans to support relief efforts in post-war Europe—the organization has since grown into one of the world’s leading humanitarian agencies. Today, CARE works in more than 100 countries, placing women and girls at the center of all their work, not only in their efforts responding to humanitarian crises, but also through CARE’s health, education, and economic empowerment programs.
