Political instability and violence in Cote d’Ivoire has forced many people to flee their homes in recent years. Today our projects include urban sanitation, social cohesion, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, malaria, HIV and AIDS, repairing infrastructure, strengthening institutions, microfinance and helping people earn a living. We are also working with cocoa farmers through the Cocoa Life partnership.

CARE began working in the country in 2000, helping those displaced by civil unrest and other poor communities gain access to food and clean water. We also addressed serious health issues in regions where formal health systems had crumbled.
